We found this easy recipe from Simplistically Living in 2022 for an easy and delicious treat to hand out at Downtown Camp Hill Association’s Candy Cane Walk. We even made an alcoholic version to hand out. It was a huge hit with the kids for the green coloring. We promise this easy recipe will be as big of a hit with your guests as it was with ours.

Ingredients:

4 cups of milk of choice (soy is okay to use)

2 tsp. vanilla extract

8 oz. mint chocolate chips

2 drops of green food coloring

Whipped cream

Red sanding sugar (for the rim)

Directions:

First, dip the glass in water and then in red sprinkles to coat the rim. This is optional but adds a fun look to the glass.

Stir together milk, vanilla, food coloring, and mint chocolate in a medium saucepan. You can also use the crock-pot or instant pot to heat this up.

Cook over medium-low heat, stirring often, until the white hot chocolate comes to a simmer and is melted. Do not let it boil as you will burn the chocolate and it will smell terrible and not melt properly.

Remove from heat and serve immediately, top with whipped cream and extras!

Pro Tip:

Don’t have enough time to make homemade hot cocoa? No worries! Use your favorite white hot chocolate powder! We’ve used Ghirardelli’s Sweet Ground White Chocolate Flavored Powder in the past and it’s just as tasty as homemade!
