Autumn sangria with apples and cinnamonCWA Operations & Transitions Specialist, Ashley Russo, shares her favorite Autumn cocktail with a homemade spicy simple syrup. This recipe is a crowd pleaser with a small amount of work, perfect for get togethers, games and bonfires.

Prep Time: 10-20 Minutes

Marinating Time: Up to 8 Hours

 

Sangria Ingredients:

1 apple-cut up

1 orange-cut up

1 ½ cup fresh cranberries

1 ½ cup Apple Cider

1 cup cranberry juice

1 cup Apple Brandy

2 Bottles of dry white wine

1 cup simple syrup

Simple Syrup Ingredients:

1 cup water

1 cup Sugar

2 Cinnamon sticks

1 small piece of fresh (unpeeled) ginger-chopped

 

Simple Syrup Directions:

In a small sauce pan bring water and sugar to a boil.

Add cinnamon sticks and ginger.

Remove from heat and let it cool down.

Remove the ginger and cinnamon sticks before using.

Sangria Directions:

Mix all the ingredients in a 1 gallon pitcher.

Add simple syrup to taste.

You can drink it immediately, but it is best to refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
