Being a self-made business owner since the age of 20, Shelley has the financial knowledge that is only gained from experiencing the ups and downs of life and economy. That experience, coupled with a strong passion to help others and an entrepreneurial spirit, Shelley thrives in realms where she can utilize these character traits to help others succeed.
After 24 years in a career as a hair, makeup and wardrobe stylist, she made a massive shift into the financial services industry. Although these two careers seemed worlds apart to most, being able to utilize her strong listening, communication and people skills made it a natural, sensible and seamless transition.
Shelley guides each client with a heart-to- heart approach, listening to their concerns, needs, desires and goals before putting together a practical and achievable plan as if it were her own. These skill sets along with her experience in owning and operating several businesses give her a unique advantage that benefits each client she serves.
While she serves her clients financial needs in a multitude of ways, Shelley is particularly passionate in working with families of special needs children. This passion was inspired by her own daughter Abrielle, who has both Down syndrome and Autism. “I was amazed at how few resources and professionals there are to help guide special needs parents in an area that is constantly on their mind – their child’s future after they are gone. That is when I decided to become that resource.”
Shelley lives in the Tampa Bay area and is a wife and mother of four children ranging in age from 9 to 27, and has a grandson that melts her heart. In her spare time, Shelley’s hobbies include painting, reading, writing and baking cookies.
She currently holds her FINRA Series, 6 and 63 Securities Licenses along with her 2-14 Life and Variable Annuities, 2-56 Legal Expense and her 2-20 General Lines Licenses. Shelley also owns and operates a small boutique-style Commercial Risk Management agency.
